Nexus: A Kingdom Encounters Drama is a 3-d RPG adventure originally inspired by, but not related to, Fenoxo’s interactive fiction game “Corruption of Champions.” It contains similar gameplay elements, and adult oriented content with a typical focus on exaggeration. The game is set around a central hub, the Nexus, which the player will use to travel to different realms (or kingdoms). While in these kingdoms the player will encounter all manner of friendly and hostile life: killing monsters, collecting loot, finding pets, undergoing transformation, and making very special friends or enemies. These locations may take many forms – from fantastic to technological and magical to mechanical. Parody realms and characters from other popular games may make guest appearances via this mechanism in the future.
This is a 3-d game built in Unity
Summoned to a strage place between places, the Nexus, you must set out and explore many worlds, becoming transformed along the way.
Talk to npc, travel with runestones, kill monsters, get loot, have fun, return to camp, rest in tent, repeat.
Its a good start. One major problem being that you can accidentally punch while in dialogue and also that the player model becomes invisible if you lose a fight and remains invisible until you win a fight and have sex. Also sometimes the portal to the forest straight up doesn't appear. One more problem is that unequiping armour doesn't visually unequip. But it is still the earliest possible build so i'm sure they will fix these. one more thing, it should have a sprint button.
Sounds interesting hope to see more.
As many have pointed out, with more specific examples, the game is very young (about 2 months). Version 0.0.2 is largely a prototype of systems. I will grow, feel less clunky, have things to do - in time. I wanted to start getting the word out now because this is an ongoing project, not a one off release.
There is 1 transformation available. - eat 3 peppers. Peppers are found in the forest. The forest is found via wasteland.
I like the idea so far, but I haven't managed to find any transformations in the game yet. :( Searched for quite a while.
Nothing showed up on my virus scan, so it seems safe to download.
However, the controls are currently very awkward. Left/right click are permanently bound to left punch and right punch, respectively. If you don't modify the settings, you're likely to end up punching NPCs repeatedly. Who will then punch you back.
Once I had that under control, I slowly jogged about in the large hubworld, then slowly jogged around the wasteland, then slowly jogged around the forest.
At the moment, there seems to be almost nothing to do. The animations are hella janky and the worlds are large and empty. Punching the main guide NPC in the face when I tried to equip a pair of pants was probably the best thing in the game so far.
It looks very ambitious, and I'll keep my eye on it for future developments.
