How to be Popular
by kimberly rex

"How to be Popular" is a TG game by Kimberly Rex, created for the March 2009 contest.

The game follows High School senior Brock Hudson on his quest to become the most popular guy in school and win the affections of his dream girl, Angie McMillan.

The game begins as the Brock sets out to increase his status at the school by pulling pranks, talking to friends, and generally trying to be a “cool guy.”  Eventually, Brock accumulates enough popularity to earn the attention of Angie, who invites him to meet her in a secluded secret pool beneath the school gym.

However, once there, Angie reveals that she’s unimpressed with Brock’s antics, and intends to punish Brock for his selfish ways.  She forcibly transforms him into Brittany, a female version of himself, and tells him she’ll only return him to normal once he’s become “the most popular girl in school.”

Brock, now Brittany, then has to navigate Bearville High as a girl, hoping to become popular enough by Prom to earn his life back.

Brock Hudson

Brock Hudson is the viewpoint character, whose goal is to become the most popular guy in school and date Angie McMillan.

Angie McMillan

A very nice game

A very linear game that features certain common tropes such as "Disproportionate Revenge", "Psycho Hell Bitch" and "Nothing You Do Matters". Closer to a short story with pictures and a few alternate endings.

To put it short, the pictures in this game are very well done, and the story isn't that bad either, however I don't feel there is much replayability here, especially since the majority of this game is doing a bunch of tedious work, I got bored playing this one. The story is fine, and the images are nice, but actually playing it feels more like a chore.

One of the best games on the site.  Only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't have a sequel :)
