The Dark Lord Rises is adult fantasy game created with RPG Maker. As a Renan, young boy with magical talent you'll explore story in realm attacked by The Evil One - legendary existence threatening peace and order in whole human world.
Sounds like typical fantasy story, right? Well, it should! The story is just pretext to orgy of sex and corruption that will ensue because of player action. However, it is not supposed to be "take the bad guy and rape every girl" story. My philosophy is that good corruption/mind control stories need time and attachment to characters to fully work. With The Dark Lord Rises I take things slow and steady. In fact, as of current version the main hero is still from being some sort of devilish corrupter.
Renan of Cern - main character of the game, young, bright boy from small village who finds himself enrolled in Magical Academy of Avonlica. What he doesn't know is that fate has something great stored for him.
Rowena of Cern - Renan's childhood nemesis. Orphan who becomes priestess around same time Renan is enrolled in Academy in Avonlica.
Rudeus Alba - experienced mage and teacher in Academy
Leonette d'Avonlica - Renan's classmate. Pompous daughter of duke d'Avonlica.
Chloe - Renan's classmate. Weird girl who wants to make many friends.
Lynn - Renan's classmate. Level-headed boy who wants to become a proper farmer.
Blas - Renan's classmate. Airhead with knack for wind magic.
Celeste - Renan's classmate. Smartest girl in class, who also has many secrets.
Tancred - Renan's classmate. Creepy guy with weird "friends".
Laeticia - ancient succubus who awoke from her slumber... and now threatens peace in Avonlica.
...and many, many others.
It starts off like a gentle fluffy breeze... and then gets really really dark in the most awesome of ways. Then.. does it get light again? We shall see! Really really enjoyed what's there, played for about 12 hours total.
Could benefit from editing and the text-scroll sex scenes aren't my preference, but the rest of the game was solid enough that I'm excited to see what comes next. Hoping some of my favorite characters will return, character development worked well for me!
In my opinion...
The writing, though there are some errors, is really immersive and enjoyable. I really enjoyed it. The characters are likeable and interesting and it's easy to begin to care about them. The story is quite entertaining too even though it's a little bit linear.
But.. the gameplay is a whole different story. I understand that there has to be a level of difficulty. But the difficulty gaps are massive and the 'difficulty' this game is trying to force is starving you out of resting points and resources. Combat itself isn't hard. It's just that you're utterly starved of decent recuperation.
In my opinion the game would be much more enjoyable if the (imo) imbalance in combat and the starvation of PCs was looked at and maybe fixed. It's the only thing I did not like about this game.
hmm quite hardcore i say
every sleep didnt recover hp mp
which make me having hard time to spam battle~
btw btw just want bit spoiler
which part of the game is m2f?
Ok My first impression is that the game is great, lots of game play. Fairly good plot and a ton of world building and the pics arn't actually that bad, that said there are a few issues.
1st: the 'We've seen some shit' excuse is horrible and i really really hope you replace it with something that actually makes sense. (its majorly annoying)
2nd: the 'demon'/'corruption' scenes, i think you need to redo them mate. Every last one is a pain to read and feels really out of character, as if he suddernly turns evil then randomly reverts.
Its just painful reading it since it comes out of no where, my addvice is to do it slowly or make it actually seem like a dream. ie like the MC is not in control of his body.
Next, look at some of the gradiual corruption games on the web, diferent styles of writing to show 'off' thoughts, gradually changing thought patterns (ie morals) it should help your writing and make things easier for you.
3rd: The MC NEEDs to realise that SOMETHING is wrong, yeah he migh decide to suppress it or purge it. or he might be made to forget any such moments. Just leaving it like it is currently is just plain weird.
Also the MC's opinion of the world needs to be shown, as it is the guy goes from pissed off but loyal to a traitor?
Anyway the game is worth playing if you have 6+ hours, but it does need an editor that can help with the growing issues.
This game is long and mostly linear. Despite being riddled with spelling and gramar mistakes the quality of the content of the writting shines through. This is game is very much in the style of Sierra Lee's The Last Sovereign. Though rough, incomplete and in need of polish this is genuinly a A grade entry into the list of computer programs to masterbate to.
